Alice (Georges) Charros
PEABODYAlice H. (Georges) Charros, 84, beloved wife of the late James Charros, Sr., died Monday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a long illness.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late James and Despina (Eletheriou) Georges. She lived in Peabody in her youth, and graduated from Peabody High School. She lived in Lynn for over 20 years, and recently moved back to Peabody.
Mrs. Charros completed a patriotic duty serving in the Women’s Army Corps (W.A.C.) during World War II, and was an Airplane Propeller Specialist.
She worked as an Assembler with General Electric in Lynn for many years.
Alice enjoyed being outdoors, and was an avid gardener and loved bird watching, and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. She also had some creative gifts as she enjoyed painting with oils, music and playing the organ, and enjoyed the nurturing role as a mother and grandmother.
She is survived by: three sons and two daughters-in-law, George & Linda Charros of Peabody, James Charros, Jr. of Manchester, NH, and Michael & Loralee Charros of Lynn; five grandchildren, Steven, David, Alexandra, Caitlin, and Kristina; one brother, Nick Georges of North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her parents and husband, by a brother John Georges and sisters Betty Carr and Sally Cantwell.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody.
Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Lynn.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
Memorial donations may be made to a Disabled Veterans Group.
