Obituary of Joseph P. Sacco, Jr.
Joseph P. Sacco, Jr., 64, of Peabody, died early Friday evening at the Massachusetts General Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Linda (Griffin) Sacco with whom he shared over 32 years of marriage.
Born in Revere, he was the son of the late Joseph P. Sacco, Sr, and Vera (Aiello) Sacco. He was raised and educated in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School, class of 1962. He has lived in Peabody for the past 45 years.
Joe was first a mechanic and later became auto body man. In 1974, along with his father, he co-owned North Shore Auto Body which was then located on Jefferson Ave in Salem. In 1977, they moved their operation to its present location which is located on Route 1 South in Danvers. After his father died in 1983, Joe became the sole owner of North Shore Auto Body.
He also had other interest as well. Joe enjoyed doing carpentry work and helping others remolding their homes. He enjoyed going to the Home Depot and gathering all the necessary materials needed for all projects, both big and small. He also liked his cars, and was the proud owner of two vintage corvettes and in his earlier days, he enjoyed racing them at the New England Drag Way. For peace and relaxation, Joe enjoyed going to Pope’s Landing in Danvers with his wife to enjoy looking at the water and boats.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two daughters, Dawn Sacco and her fiance Jason Andrews and Jennifer Sacco, his beloved granddaughters, Savannah "The General" and Madyson, all of Peabody, 2 sisters, Joyce and her husband David Buccheri of Danvers, and Joanne Snyder of Peabody, his four nephews, David, Joseph, and John Buccheri, and Mark Dolan, and is also survived by his beloved dog, Molly. He was the uncle of the late Gina Buccheri.
His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at St. Richards Church, Danvers to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
