Obituary of Marguerite E. (Griffin) Joyce

Marguerite E. (Griffin) Joyce, 83, of Lynnfield, devoted wife of 50 years to the late Joseph A. Joyce Sr., died on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Sunrise at Gardner Park in Peabody while surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Joyce was born in Peabody on December 13, 1924, daughter of the late George and Marie “Tina” (Gelineau) Griffin. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from St. John the Baptist Girls High School. She resided in Peabody before moving to Lynnfield in 1953. Mrs. Joyce was employed for many years as a tax examiner for the IRS in Andover until her retirement in 1980. She enjoyed bowling and traveling with her family and friends. Mrs. Joyce is survived by her loving children, Joseph A. Joyce Jr. and his wife Zenaida of Houston TX, Diane M. DePari and her partner Ralph P. Santosuosso of Wakefield, Paul G. Joyce of Effingham NH and Pamela E. Laham and her husband Raymond P. of Stoneham; her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Grace Joyce of TX, David R. DePari of Wakefield, Heather and Megan Laham of Stoneham; her siblings, Ruth Bonfanti of Gloucester, Patsy Lawrence of FL, Joseph and Richard Griffin of Peabody; many nieces and nephews. Her siblings George Griffin, Edith Fournier and Florence Pouliot pre deceased her. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., facility, Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 758 Salem St., Lynnfield. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
