Mary A. (Glencross) Brown
Born in Bearsville, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late William and Anabelle (Dunn) Glencross. She lived there until moving to the United States at age 20. She lived in Peabody for over 70 years.
Mrs. Brown was employed as a Housekeeper and Domestic Assistant at the home of Mrs. Josiah B. Thomas whose husband was the Benefactor for J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody. She also worked at Clem’s Bakery and was a Matron at the Haven Home for Aged Men in Peabody.
Mary attended Essex Aggie, became a U.S. Citizen in 1945, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Peabody Council on Aging, and she loved to cook.
She is survived by: two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond & Marion Brown of Peabody and Doug & Joan Brown of Danvers; four grandchildren, Raymond, Jr., Kevin, Kristin, and Kerry Brown; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Minnie & Carmen Philmore and Vera Beers, both of Canada, and several nieces and nephews in Canada. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Kimberly, a great-grandson Scott, and sister of the late Laura Robinson and Thomas Glencross.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Tuesday for a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 A.M. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
Memorial donations may be made to Pilgrim Rehab & Nursing Center, 96 Forest St. Peabody, MA 01960.
