Obituary of Fred A. "Dint" Guinasso, Jr.

Fred A. “Dint” Guinasso, Jr., 82, of Peabody and formerly of Lynnfield and the North End, died Tuesday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Roberta (Pisco) Guinasso. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Fred A. Guinasso, Sr. and Laura. He was raised and educated in the North End and after High School, he attended Boston College. He later lived in Lynnfield and for the past 20 years, he has lived in Peabody. Fred worked as an Optician who owned and operated Gem Optical in Saugus for over 40 years before retiring 15 years ago. After his retirement, he worked part-time for Stop and Shop in the deli department in Danvers for 15 years. He was a member of the Lions Club in Saugus and also enjoyed watching the races at Suffolk Downs and Rockingham. Fred is survived by his loving children, Debbie Guinasso and her husband Billy Moreton of Danvers, Gail Guinasso of Seabrook, NH, Mark and his wife Susie Guinasso of Plymouth, Jodi Guinasso and her husband Peter Minton of Florida, Glenn and his wife Linda Guinasso, of Florida and Jill and her husband Roger Petit of Danvers. He is also survived by six grandchildren,Michael Bedard, Nikki Minton, Lyndsay Minton, Kelsey Guinasso, Eric Guinasso, and Dylan Petit, and a great granddaughter, Adrianna Dodds, two brothers, Eugene and Arthur Guinasso and a sister, Marie Morello, all of Revere. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the NSCC, 17 Centennial Dr., Peabody, or the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St, Danvers, MA 01923.
