Obituary of Mary E. Canavan

Mary E. Canavan, 73, of Peabody, died on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 under the loving care of her family and staff at Salem Hospital. Mary was born in Salem, on January 18, 1935 daughter of the late William and Mary E. (Lewis) Canavan. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a lifelong resident of the city. Mary was employed for 30 years as an electronic welder at E.G.&G. Corporation in Salem until her retirement. She dedicated her whole life to her family and later to her many nieces & nephews. Mary is survived by her siblings, Catherine L. “Katie” Cavallon and her husband Joseph “Joe”, John B. Canavan, Dorothy A. “Dottie” Aylward all of Peabody and Margaret “Peggy” Canty of Wakefield; a special niece, Linda Cavallon of Peabody and a special nephew, John Hussien of Gardner and many other loving nieces and nephews; a dear friend, Joanne E. Vangelist of Peabody. Her sister Patricia Joan Hussien predeceased her in 1991. Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2008 from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., (downtown location) Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
