Obituary of Marie V. (Levasseur) Pohju Farrell

Marie V. (Levasseur) Pohju – Farrell, 89, of Peabody, died on Thursday, October 30, 2008 under the loving care her family and the staff at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was the wife of the late Arthur Pohju and the late Andrew Farrell. Marie was born in Peabody on November 8, 1918 the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Lussier) Levasseur. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School and made her home in Peabody for most of her life. Marie was employed for 15 years as an inspector at CBS Hytron in Danvers until her retirement. While living in Peabody she was a former resident of 261 Newbury St. She enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets. Marie is survived by her 3 sons, Victor Pohju and his wife Karen MacDonald of Tamworth NH, Robert Pohju of Dover NH and Allen Farrell of Canton ME; a grandson and his wife, Rick and Brenda McHale of Seabrook NH; several other grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her siblings, Albertine Stankard, Dora Collette – Roy, Cecile Cappucio, Blanche Caron, Leo Levasseur and Raymond Levasseur predeceased her. As per her request, a family graveside committal of Marie’s ashes will be held at a later date.
