Obituary of Jeannette Y. (Girard) (Espinola) Gear

Jeannette Y. (Girard) (Espinola) Gear, of Ipswich and Treasure Island, Florida, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2008 after injuries sustained in a fall on the bus she was riding to church in Florida. She was the wife of the late William Espinola, Sr., and Edward Gear. Jeannette worked as an executive secretary for Varian Electronics in Beverly for many years before retiring many years ago. She was an avid golfer, and belonged to Lifestyles in Florida and was a member of the YMCA in Ipswich. She also enjoyed playing bingo and taking cruises, but most importantly to her, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was looking forward to the arrival of a great grandchild that is due in December. She was truly a treasure to her family and friends and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her, including grandchildren, William Espinola III and his wife Kelly of Candia, NH, Andrew and Danielle Espinola of Windsor, MA., her step children, Edward Gear of Ipswich, Thomas Gear of Peabody, Kenny Gear of Florida, and Nancy and Jerry Hewitt of Colorado, her grandchildren, Edward and Emily Gear of Wilmington, Rebecca Gear of Peabody and Jeremy and Sarah Hewitt of Colorado, her two sisters, Rita Sparfeld of East Kingston, NH, and Bernadette Augusto of Ipswich. She also leaves several nieces and nephews whom she was very close to and who will miss her terrible. She was the mother of the late William Espinola II. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope Church in Ipswich to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will b held on SATURDAY from 3 until 7 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem
