Obituary of Helen M. (Chmiel) Pechinsky

—Helen M. (Chmiel) Pechinsky, 91, beloved wife of the late John Pechinsky, died Tuesday at the Masconomet Regional Heathcare Facility in Topsfield following a brief illness. Born in Peabody, she was a lifelong resident of the city. Mrs. Pechinsky worked the Leather manufacturing industry, was a Stitcher with the Ivory System of Peabody, and was a Partner/Owner of Chelsea Liquor Mart for over 47 years with her husband and son-in-law. Helen was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Peabody, the St. Joseph’s Ladies Sodality, enjoyed Gardening, and spending the Summer at the family cottage in Contoocook, NH. She is survived by: a son-in-law, Daniel MacDonald & his wife Sandy of Peabody; two grandsons, Daniel MacDonald & his wife Soynia, and their daughter Sienna of Los Angeles, CA and John MacDonald & his fiancée Cindy of Middleton, and great-granddaughter Hailee & her mother Terry O’Keefe of Haverhill; one brother, Edward Chmiel of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a daughter Constance MacDonald, and sister of the late Brian, John and Joseph Chmiel, and Anna Mullins, Sophie Danish, and Mary McDonald. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Saturday at 9 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
