Obituary of Charles J. "Bud" Glancy, Jr.

Charles J. “Bud” Glancy Jr., 65, of Tewksbury, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, November 12, 2008. Bud was born in Malden on December 8, 1942 son of the late Charles J. and Irma E. (Martin) Glancy. He was raised and educated in Malden and for the past 15 years has been a resident of Tewksbury. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served until receiving his honorable discharge in 1960. Bud was employed for the better part of his life as a truck driver with different trucking companies in the Boston area until his retirement at age 62. Bud was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Father Coppens Council # 4336 in Wilmington. He served as a Warden there and was also a member of their pool team. Bud is survived by a brother and his wife, Jack M. and Joan Glancy of Peabody; a niece, Jenna Glancy of Peabody many aunts and cousins. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral home, 82 Lynn St., (new location) Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Adelaide Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
