Obituary of A. Pearl (Brown) Hicks

A. Pearl (Brown) Hicks, 84, of Peabody, died Sunday at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Home in Salem after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Hicks. She was born in Saugus on September 4, 1924, the daughter of the late John and Ivy (Dawson) Brown and was raised in Lynn where she graduated form Lynn Classical High School. She had resided in Peabody for the past 50 years. She had been a data processor at the General Electric Company at the West Lynn plant for 42 years prior to her retirement 24 years ago. She enjoyed going shopping and playing bingo with her neighbors at the Peabody House. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Hicks and her companion Ronald Janard of Beverly, and Ann Johnson of Peabody, a sister, Ivy Courtney of Beverly, MA, her grandchildren, Jeffrey Gardner and Julie and her husband George Drillis all of Peabody, four great grandchildren, Jason, Joshua and Jonathan Gardner and Miabella Drillis, her best friend, Barbara Bookholz of Peabody and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John and William Brown and Daisy Nesbitt. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her Funeral Service will be held there on Wednesday at 11:30 AM. With Rev. Joyce Caggiano of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Peabody officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
