Obituary of Robert H. Kennedy

Robert H. Kennedy PEABODY—Robert H. Kennedy, 76, passed away Saturday evening, November 15, 2008 at the Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Peabody after a long illness. He is the beloved husband of 56 years of Margaret A. (Angelico) Kennedy, a loving father to his four children, John J. Kennedy of Peabody, Dr. Robert M. Kennedy and his wife, Lisa, of Billerica, Barbara A. Freeman and her husband, Dennis, of Billerica, and David P. Kennedy and his wife, Lauren, of Marblehead; he is the brother of Dr. John F. Kennedy and his wife, Marianne, of Kingston, NH, and he leaves eight loving grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He was born April 11, 1932 to John J. and Anne B. Kennedy in Methuen. He is a 1949 graduate of St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers, and a proud alumnus of Boston College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS Degree in 1965. Together with his wife, Margaret, they raised their four children in Peabody, and also lived briefly in North Andover. After working for GE and Avco, Mr. Kennedy then worked at Raytheon Company for 26 years where he retired as the Japan Hawk Program Manager in 1994. An avid golfer and boater, he also enjoyed landscaping and gardening. For many years he was an active member of St. John the Baptist School in Peabody, serving on various committees, including the School Board and the Boosters Club. Robert will be remembered for his engaging smile, his snappy wit, his enjoyment of all sports and his loving devotion to his family. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday at 10 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John’s Church, Peabody. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
