Obituary of Evelyn (Thompson) Perry

Evelyn (Thompson) Perry, of Peabody and formerly of Salem, died Monday afternoon at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Perry. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Margaret (O’Mara) Thompson. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of St. James High School. Upon marrying her husband Anthony she moved to Peabody where she has lived for the past 52 years. Evelyn worked briefly as a bus monitor for the Travel Time Bus Line Company in Peabody for about five years. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Peabody and later she enjoyed going to the Community Life Center in Peabody. Evelyn was a dear and loving person who enjoyed spending time with her children and later her grandchildren and will dearly missed by all, including her two sons, Anthony Perry of Salem and Michael Perry of Peabody, her three daughters, Brenda McMahon of Salem, Gloria Perry of Peabody and Tina Perry of Oregon, her four brothers, John Thompson of Salem, Joe Thompson of Lynn, Bobby Thompson of Ipswich and Carl Thompson of Lynn, her two sisters, Eileen Sabino and Carol Thompson, both of Peabody and also by her nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
