Obituary of E. Marguerite (Kidney) O'Brien

E. Marguerite (Kidney) O’ Brien, 89, of Peabody, died early Friday morning at Brighton Gardens in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Joseph O’ Brien with whom she shared over 64 years of marriage. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Feeney) Kidney. She was raised and educated in Peabody, later lived in Marblehead, and has spent the last 30 year living in Peabody. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Emmanuel College in 1936 and later taught Latin at Marblehead High School before her retirement. She is survived by her three sons, James O’ Brien of MacLean, VA, William O’ Brien of Braceville, IL, and John O’ Brien of Peabody; a daughter, Patricia O’ Brien of Los Angeles, CA, and a granddaughter, Lucy O’ Brien of San Francisco, Ca. She was the sister of the late James B. Kidney, Jr., and May Wojick Her funeral service will be held on Monday at 9:00 from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Adelaide’ s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Sunday from 4 until 7 PM. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
