Obituary of Irene M. (Cronin) Dalton

Irene M. (Cronin) Dalton Irene M. (Cronin) Dalton, 90, of Peabody, died Tuesday morning at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Peabody Police Officer James J. Dalton who died in 1980. She was born in Chelsea, Ma on October 15, 1918, the daughter of the late John and Julia (Cronin) Cronin and had resided in Peabody most of her life. She was the last Sibling of Ten Cronin brothers and sisters. She had been a salesperson at the Sears, Roebuck and Company store at the Northshore Mall for a few years. She was an avid reader and loved to drink tea and listen to Irish Music. Her real joy in life was the legacy she had and cherished her children, grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David R. Dalton of Port Charlotte, FL, Atty. Kevin M. Dalton and his wife Jacqueline of Manchester by the Sea, MA and Mrs. Beverly Dalton, wife of the late James J. Dalton Jr. of Billerica, her two daughters and son-in-law, Carol A. Van Dyke, wife of the late Harry Van Dyke of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Patricia L. and Michael Frasca of Danvers, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Lynn St., Peabody.
