Robert R. Adams
PEABODY—Robert R. Adams, 70, beloved husband of Mary Ann (Cusato) Adams of Peabody, died unexpectedly Sunday evening at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center Hospital in Peabody.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Russell and Alice (Lecorn) Adams. He lived in South Boston in his youth, and graduated from South Boston High School. He lived in Medford for 32 years, and moved to Peabody where he lived for the last eight years.
Mr. Adams served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a Shipping Supervisor with the Sears & Roebuck Company of Boston for 30 years, then worked in Security at Harvard University for over 10 years until retiring in 2000.
Robert was a member of the American Legion, Post 462 of Boston, and enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Bruins games, as well as sports in general. He will be remembered for his simplicity and devotion to his family and friends.
He is survived by: his wife, Mary Ann (Cusato) Adams of Peabody, with whom he shared 36 years of marriage; a son and daughter-in-law, Joe & Tricia Adams of Chelmsford; a daughter, Teresa Adams of Peabody; one granddaughter, Allyson Adams of Chelmsford; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald & Patricia Adams of Weymouth; two sisters, Carole & Gerald Sullivan and Donna Flaherty, both of South Boston, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday morning at 9 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St., Peabody.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
