Obituary of John A. Kehoe
John A. Kehoe, Sr.
PEABODY—John A. Kehoe, Sr., of Beverly, beloved husband of the late Annie (Kozak) Kehoe, died Tuesday morning at the Beverly Hospital.
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Andrew and Margaret (Dullea) Kehoe. He lived in Peabody for most of his life, and he graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1940. He was on the Champion Football Team of 1938 and 1940.
He enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II.
Mr. Kehoe worked for A.C. Lawrence Leather company, then became a Tool and Dye Foreman with G.E. in Everett where he worked for over 35 years until retiring 26 years ago.
John was a member of the V.F.W. in Peabody, the Knights of Columbus in Peabody. He will be remembered as an avid sports fan, and his loving devotion to family—especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by family and friends, including: his two sons and their wives, John & Laura Kehoe, Jr., of Peabody and Paul & Ellen Kehoe of Beverly; six grandchildren, Ryan, Andrew, Patrick, Ashley, Brandon and Nicole; five great-grandchildren, Erin, MacKenzie, Joey, Leah and Sarah; one brother, Philip Kehoe of Lynnfield, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday at 9 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In his honor, since he was devoted to children Memorial Donations are requested to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or any children’s benefit organization of one’s choice.
