Obituary of Dorothea Perakis

Dorothea Perakis PEABODY Dorothea Perakis, 78, died Thursday afternoon at the Radius Healthcare Facility in Danvers following a long illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Argerios and Vasiliki (Christopoulos) Perakis. She lived there all her life, and attended Peabody schools. She graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1944. Miss Perakis worked in the Corporate Offices for the A & P Stores in Boston for many years, and also worked for the Kendall Company. She was a faithful and devoted member of the St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church Community in Peabody, and taught Sunday School there. She loved children, and her music listening was for Frank Sinatra and Big Band music. She is survived by: a brother, John Perakis of Lewiston, NY, a sister Sylvia Eon of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late James Perakis, George Perakis, and Virginia Sakelakos. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM in St. Vasilios Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 7 P.M. Burial will be in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem/Peabody line.
