Obituary of Douglas H. Hall

Douglas H. Hall, 90, of Peabody and formerly of Beverly, died Sunday evening at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Louise (Maguire) Hall. Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, he was the son of the late Charles and Elsie (Shand) Hall. In his youth he moved to Peabody where he was raised and educated and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1936. After high school, he enlisted with the United States Army and served during World War II and was honorably discharged in October 1945. He worked as a maintenance worker for various companies throughout the North Shore, the last 10 years was at Beverly Hospital, before he retired in 1980. Douglas was an avid golfer who played well into his 80’s. He played throughout the North Shore and the Cape Ann Golf Club in Essex. He also was a member of the Vittori Rocci Post 56 club in Beverly and was a Disabled American Veteran. Douglas accomplished many things over the years, but one of his most proudest moments was his Eagle Scout Badge. He is survived by a son, Jeffrey Hall of Peabody and a daughter and son-in-law, Candace and Christopher Ralto of Burlington, and he is survived by his two loving grandsons, Kenneth and Jeffrey Ralto, both of Burlington. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:45 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM
