Obituary of Catherine Horrigan

Catherine Horrigan, 87, a former resident of Tremont St., Peabody, died Wednesday morning at the Hunt Retirement Center, Danvers, after a long illness. She was born and raised in Peabody, the daughter of The late Michael and Josephine (Walsh) Horrigan, she had resided here most of her Life. She was a graduate of Peabody Schools and Salem State College. She Was a teacher in the Peabody School System for 42 years prior to retirement from The South School in 1982. She had been a member of the American Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed playing golf and had been a member of the former Peabody Country Club. She also like to Bowl, and work in her garden. She is survived by 2 sisters, Miss Rose Horrigan and Mrs. Esther Sweeney of Peabody, 2 nieces, Mary Jo Dussault of Topsfield and Rose J. Horrigan of Salem, Ma. And 3 nephews, Rev. John Meagher S.S.E. of the Edmundite Fathers of Swanton,Vt., John Sweeney of Peabody and Michael Horrigan of Taunton, Ma. and many grand nieces and grand nephews and great grand nieces and great grand nephews. She was the Sister of the late John Horrigan and Mary Meagher. Her funeral will be held On Saturday at 10:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 11:00 A.M. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
