Obituary of Urbina (Ortins) Quadros

Urbina Ortins Quadros, 89, of Peabody, died peacefully Tuesday at the Kaplan Family Hospice House ,Danvers with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Joao Quadros. She was born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal on September 16, 1919, the daughter of the late Manuel Antonio and Maria (Arcencao) Ortins and had resided there before moving to Peabody forty years ago. She had been a seamstress first with the Charles Leather Company of Peabody and later at the Unitrol Company of Salem prior to her retirement. She had been an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and also was a member of the Holy Ghost Society. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Joao Manuel and Antonina Quadros of Berlin, Vt., Jose Manuel and Maria Quadros of Lebanon, NH and Antonio and Connie Quadros of No Reading, two daughters and a son-in-law, Maria de Jesus Bettencourt , wife of the late Raymond Bettencourt of Peabody and Maria Urbina and her husband Helder Eiro of Watsonville, California, a brother and sister-in-law, Abilio and Maria Ortins of Sarnia, Ont., Canada, 11 grandchildren, a great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel A. Ortins, Maria Lourdes Ortins, Zulmeira Ortins and Jose Ortins. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Walsh Ave., Peabody at 10:00 AM.
