Obituary of Cosmo D. Russo

Cosmo D. Russo, 86, of West Peabody died on Christmas Morning at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Mary (Colantuoni) Russo. He was born in Los Angeles, California on November 12, 1922, and was raised there. He then entered the U.S. Navy during WW 11 serving aboard the USS Cormick in the Asiatic and Pacific theatre operations prior to his discharge in 1945. He then settled in Massachusetts and had been a resident of Peabody for the past 43 years. He had been in the Auto Body Repair Industry for 40 years retiring from Davy Chevrolet Repair Shop. He was a car enthusiast and was proud of his 1967 Plum Chevrolet Camero that he displayed at many car shows in the North Shore area. He also enjoyed in his later years socializing with his friends at the Dunkin Donut Shop at Lake and Lowell St in West Peabody. He is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia and John Mc Carron of No. Andover, Shirley Gil and Sharon Freeman both of Peabody,9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. A Service will be held at 7:30 PM. Burial will be on Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. with a military tribute in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody . Relatives and friends kindly invited.
