Obituary of John L. Hubisz
John L. Hubisz, 87 years, husband of Mary Mae (Fleming) Hubisz of Salem died Saturday at the Salem Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Hubisz was born Nov. 1, 1914 in Peabody son of the late Peter and Martha Hubisz. He was raised and educated in Peabody graduating from Peabody High School class of 1931. He was employed at G.T.E. Sylvania in Salem as an inventory stock keeper for 46 years until his retirement in 1963. He loved fishing and bowling.
In addition to his wife with whom he shared 65 years of marriage, he is survived by five sons, John L. Hubisz, Jr. of North Carolina, Joseph Jodi Hubisz of TX, Jan Hubisz of ME, Jeremy and Jeffrey Hubisz both of Peabody; three daughters, Martha Verlonder of GA, Marilyn MacCaffrey of NH and Mary Fraser of Nova Scotia; a brother, Anthony Hubisz; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also the father of the late James Hubisz who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1966.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Cahill-Brodeur facility at 20 Church St., Peabody (978.531.0472) of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home followed by his funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Salem/Peabody line.
