Obituary of Mark R. Burke
Mark R. Burke, 52, beloved husband of Jane (Lusardi) Burke of Danvers, died peacefully on Tuesday evening while in the presence of his family at his home, following a long illness.
Born in Salem, he was the son of Richard and Vera (Palmachuk) Burke of Peabody. He lived in Peabody in his youth, where he attended schools. He graduated from Peabody High School.
He enlisted with the United States Army as a patriotic duty during peacetime, and was a Paratrooper in the Elite 82nd Airborne Division for three years. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service as a General Mechanic in the North Reading facility for many years.
Mark enjoyed music and playing guitar, photography, was an outdoorsman who loved kayaking, and will be remembered for his keen wit and dedication to his family and friends.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends, including: his wife, Jane (Lusardi) Burke of Danvers, with whom he shared 21 years of marriage; a daughter, Caroline Burke of Danvers; his parents, Richard & Vera Burke of Peabody; a sister and brother-in-law, Katherine Burke & her husband Edward Alt of NY; a sister-in-law Suzanne & Peter Vocatura of Weston, a brother-in-law Steven & Patricia Lusardi of Medford; and four nieces & nephews, Anastasia Alt, Samantha, Alexis, and Louis Vocatura.
His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Adelaideâs Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 â“ 8 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to either the Danvers Food Pantry or a charity of oneâs choice.
