Obituary of Irving G. Wilson, Jr.

Irving G. Wilson, Jr., 78, of Peabody and formerly of Revere and Everett, died Thursday morning at the Hammersmith Nursing Home in Saugus following a brief illness. Born in Brighton, he was the son of the late Irving G. Wilson Sr., and Helen (McNeil) Wilson. He was raised and educated in the Boston area and has spent the last 59 years living in Peabody. Irving worked full time for the Commonwealth Armory Massachusetts National Guard, 114 Medical Battalion, Yankee Division for over 40 years and retired as a sergeant. Irving was also a musician who played a baritone instrument with several bands in the Boston Area. His biggest thrill was playing and marching in the parade for John F. Kennedy’s Inauguration. He also enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary Wilson of Billerica, a sister-in-law, Andrea Wilson of Everett and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Frederick Wilson and Mary Stuart. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody
