Obituary of Aldina M. (Selvo) Nunes

Aldina M. (Selvo) Nunes, 87, of Danvers and formerly of Peabody, died Monday at the Shaughnessy-Kaplin Hospital, Salem after a month long illness. She was the wife of the late Edward Nunes. She was born in Peabody, Ma on May 26, 1917 the daughter of the late John and Onorina (Vistorino) Selvo and was a graduate of Peabody High School and had resided in Danvers for the past 60 years. She had been employed at the Masconomet Regional High School in the food preparation for Over 10 years prior to her retirement in 1979. She loved to work in her garden and being with her grandchildren. She had been a volunteer for many years at the St John’ s Prep Bingo Program on Monday evenings. She is survived by her only son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Santa Nunes of Danvers, five grandsons, Edward and his wife Kim Nunes, John and his wife Debra Nunes, William and Robert Nunes all of Danvers and Richard and his wife Kirsten Nunes of Sandown, NH, her great grandchildren, Edward, Keven, Christopher, Jacob, Isabelle, Anya and Nicole Nunes and a great great granddaughter, Kaylee Nunes and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Aldo Nunes. A visitation will be held on Friday morning at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility from 9:30 until 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Richard’ s Church, Forest St., Danvers at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to charity of ones choice.
