Obituary of Yvonne C. (Jodoin) Sullivan
Yvonne C. (Jodoin) Sullivan, 64, wife of the late William Sullivan, and the former wife of James Kain of Peabody, died on Friday at the North Shore Medical Center Salem Hospital after being stricken at home.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Yvonne (Girard) Jodoin. She lived in Salem in her youth where she attended schools, and graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Salem.
Ms. Sullivan had an artistic and creative talent which she applied in her business success. She founded and owned Yvonne Ceramics of Peabody, and a children's thrift store Good Pickins in Salem.
Yvonne enjoyed all kinds of crafts, and her latest endeavor was making bows and hair accessories for many, and she enjoyed knitting for her grandchildren. One special gift she shared was providing Foster Care for private adoption agencies, caring for newborns. She nurtured over 100 babies and was proud of giving them a loving start in life through the adoption process. She will be remembered for that, and mostly for spending time with her family and grandchildren, and enjoyed entertaining family and friends in the summer months by the pool where everyone would find food and fun.
She is survived by: her two daughters and their husbands, Debra & James Tobin of Lake Havasu, AZ and Christine & Brian Rich of Peabody; five grandchildren, James "Keegan" Tobin, Jake Tobin, Zachary Rich, Cameron Rich, and her "littlest princess" Emma Rich; her former husband, James Kain of Peabody; two sisters and their husbands, Gloria Fournier & David Anderson of Lynn and Elaine & Patrick Hurley of Summerfield, FL; one brother, Leo Jodoin of Salem, several nieces and nephews, and her best friend Charlene Tretola of Peabody.
