Obituary of Louise "Babs" (Cahill) Noble

Louise “Babs” (Cahill) Noble PEABODY—Louise “Babs” (Cahill) Noble, 70, beloved wife of John Noble of Peabody, died Monday morning at her home following a brief illness. Born in Dorchester, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Louise (Cotter) Cahill. She grew up in South Boston and graduated from St. Augustine High School. She later graduated from Emmanuel College. Mrs. Noble took vows as a Sister of Notre Dame order, and dedicated her life in education. She taught Junior High Math in several schools through-out the Archdiocese of Boston. Later, she worked at St. John the Baptist School in Peabody as a Teacher and in Administration, as she retired as Assistant Principal in 2003. After retirement she continued tutoring for many students throughout the North Shore area. Louise, known as “Babs” with family and friends, will be remembered for her wonderful outlook on life, her great sense of humor, and how she loved people, especially giving to teaching children. She was blessed with a large circle of family and friends who brought her great joy, and will be dearly missed by all those who cherished her wonderful spirit and joy of living. She is survived by: her husband, John Noble, with whom she shared over 25 years of marriage; a son, John Noble of Salem and a daughter, Christine Noble of Beverly; she was the sister of Edward V. Cahill of South Boston, Sister Carol Cahill, SND of Andover, Peggy Cahill of Methuen, Paul Cahill & his wife Kathleen of Abington, and Nancy Cahill of Methuen; several nieces, nephews and grandnieces & grandnephews; sister-in-law of James & Joan Noble of Portland, ME, Frances& Walter Ouimette of Lampoc, CA. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday at 10 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to North Shore Cancer Center, 17 Centennial Dr., Peabody, MA 01960.
