Obituary of Stephen R. "Dick" Radziewicz

Stephen Richard “Dick” Radziewicz, 78, of Peabody, died late Saturday evening at the Massachusetts General Hospital following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie Theresa (Robichaud) Radziewicz. Born in Peabody on October 28, 1930, he was the son of the late Stephen R and Stella (Kasprzyk) Radziewicz. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School, and later, Franklin Technical Institute in Boston. He was a veteran of the Korean War who served with the United States Navy. After the war, he worked for 40 years at Sylvania’s Fluorescent Lamp Plant in Danvers as an Electronic Electrician. He was a member of the U.S.L.S.T. Association, the Polish Legion of American Veteran’s Post 63 and the Polish National Alliance. He was an avid birdwatcher and a member of the Massachusetts Audubon Society, the N.A. Hawk Migration Association, and participated with the Eastern Mass Hawk Watch, and also with the York Company Maine Hawk Watch. He was a communicant of the former St. Joseph’s Church in Peabody and was a member of the St. Joseph’s faith community. He is survived by several cousins. His funeral service will he held on Thursday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Stephen was a life member of the Acoustic Neuroma Assoc., and memorial donations can be made in his name to the Acoustic Neuroma Assoc., P.O, Box 12402, Atlanta, GA 30355.
