Obituary of Francis J. Trelegan, Jr.

Francis J. Trelegan Jr., 70. of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, died unexpectedly Thursday morning at his home. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Lima) Trelegan. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Francis J. Trelegan Sr. and Margaret (Saulnier) Trelegan. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. After high school he attended Merrimack College for two years. He has lived in Peabody for the past 47 years. For the past 20 years, he has worked in the advertisement sales department for the Salem Evening News in Beverly. He also was an avid pool player and belonged to several leagues on the North Shore including the BCA Pool League, 8-Ball league, 9-Ball league and was a member of the North Shore Billiards Association. Francis loved spending time with his family, wife, daughters and grandchildren, and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him and loved him. Besides his loving wife Mary, he is survived by five daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna and Al Sproul, Debra and Bill Champa, Diane Trelegan, Jennifer Trelegan, and Erika Christensen, his ten grandchildren, Matthew Trelegan, Alvin, Jonathan, and Justin Sproul, Nicholas and Emily Christensen, Zachary, Alexander, and Cameron Champa, and Joshua Trelegan, he was the brother of the late James D. Trelegan and nephew of the late Mary J. Trelegan, Sr. Teresita Trelegan, O.P., and Mae Saulnier His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
