Obituary of Pauline E. (Gleason) Heaney
Pauline E. (Gleason) Heaney 83 years of Peabody, wife of the late William A. Bill Heaney, died Tuesday morning at the Peabody Glen Health Care Center in Peabody after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Heaney was born September 25, 1921 in Salem daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Flynn) Gleason. She was raised in Salem and graduated from Salem High School class of 1938. She moved to Peabody in 1962.
Mrs. Heaney was employed for 7 years as a telephone operator in the North Shore area. She then pursued her education and graduated from Beverly Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1960. She remained at Beverly Hospital until her retirement in 1984. She volunteered for many years at the Peabody Museum in Salem and the Peabody Historical Society. She loved music and playing the flute, made braded rugs, enjoyed gardening and loved animals.
Mrs. Heaney is survived by a daughter, Joan E. Heaney-Levesque of Isle Verte, Quebec; a sister, Anna Dalton of Beverly; 7 grandchildren, David, Gerard, Denise, Renee, Matthew, Monique and Yvan Levesque all of Canada, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her brother W. Norman Gleason predeceased her.
A memorial service will be celebrated on Friday May 6, 2005 at 11 a.m. in St. Peter’ s Episcopal Church, 24 St. Peter St., Salem. As per her request burial will be private. Arrangements are by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody.
