Obituary of Mary Rabchenuk

Danvers, February 11, 2009. Mary Rabchenuk, 81 of Peabody died early Wednesday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a brief illness Ms. Rabchenuk was the daughter of the late Sydor and Melania (Sauchuk) Rabchenuk. Born in Peabody in 1927, Mary was a life-long resident of Peabody and was educated in the Peabody Public School System. She was employed by the A.C. Lawrence Leather Factory for twenty-seven years until her retirement in 1976. Mary was an active parishioner of St. Nicholas Church in Salem where she sang in the choir. In addition, Mary was an avid reader who loved mystery novels. She also enjoyed watching movies and she loved to dance. The New England Patriots had an avid fan in Mary. Mary is survived by one sister, Anna Stepenuk of Peabody, and her nieces, Marlene Raebeck of Peabody, and Linda O'Donnell of Danvers. Mary was predeceased by her two brothers, Kushma and Joseph Rabchenuk. Friends and family are invited to attend Mary's visitation on Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street in Peabody. A Memorial Service (Panikhida) will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Friday evening. Her funeral will be held on Saturday February 14th at 9 A.M. from the funeral home followed by a Burial Service at 10 A.M. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 64 Forrester Street in Salem. Burial to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary's name to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 64 Forrester Street in Salem, MA 01970
