Obituary of Elizabeth (Vlacheas) Kleros
Elizabeth (Vlacheas) Kleros, 83, wife of the late Theodore L. Kleros, died on Friday, February 13, 2009 in the loving care of the staff at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Center in Salem.
Mrs. Kleros was born in Springvale Maine on May 6, 1925 daughter of the late Fotis and Mary (Vouvou) Vlacheas. She was raised in Springvale Maine and graduated from the Edward Little High School Class of 1943. Before moving to Salem in 1959, she had resided in Lynn for many years.
Mrs. Kleros was employed for 20 years as a quality control supervisor at Phillips Electric in Lynn until her retirement in 1988. She devoted her life to her family and with the years, she was blessed with 7 grandchildren that she was so proud of. She and her husband were very active at the Salem Council on Aging and traveled extensively on scheduled parish trips and also enjoyed going to Atlantic City and knitting. In her younger years she and her husband were avid dancer and were regulars at the Lynn Volunteer Yatch Club. During the summer months she summered at their Mousam Lake camp in Shapleigh Maine.
Mrs. Kleros is survived by her children and their spouses, Fotis and Claire Kleros of Medford, Peter and Dina Kleros of Beverly, Ann and Mike Pelletier of Farmingdale ME and Robin and Kevin Goggin of Peabody; her grandchildren, Jennifer and James Champani, Melissa and Megan Pelletier, Jason Mineo Goggin and his wife Jenny Yandell, Nicole and Gia Goggin, Alexander and Aleni Kleros; 4 nieces, Paula Stass, Pamela Sheehan, Patricia Matvichuk and Anna Beos and a nephew, Louis Kleros. Her brother Spero Vlacheas predeceased her.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 12 noon from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., (location) Peabody followed by a service at 1 PM in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Vasilios Altar Fund, 5 Paleologos St., Peabody MA 01960.
