Obituary of Charles "Chuck" Lalikos

Charles F. “Chuck” Lalikos PEABODY—Charles F. “Chuck” Lalikos, 55, beloved husband of Alicia (Herterick) of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Tuesday February 17, 2009 at the Lahey Clinic North Hospital in Peabody after being stricken at his home. Born in Danvers, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Brown) Lalikos. He lived in Peabody most of his life, and was preparing to move to Florida this week. He graduated from Peabody High School, then attended the University of Arkansas. When Lowe Mart opened in the 1960’s, he worked in the family business helping as a young boy. He was Maintenance Supervisor for over 30 years. Chuck had a passion for sports, especially Basketball. He was an Assistant Coach at Peabody High School with Rick Weitzman. He also was involved with many youth AAU Basketball teams, the Knights, St. Vasilios Team, and others. He always believed in sponsoring youth sports leagues and Babe Ruth Baseball, and was generous in giving of his time and resources. Another passion of Chuck’s was music. He was involved in managing with the Nervous Eaters, active with The Fools, and loved Rock music. His favorite teams to follow were the Boston Celtics and the Boston Red Sox. He is survived by: his wife, Alicia (Herterick) Lalikos of Peabody, with whom he shared 5 years of marriage; his sisters, Joanna Maloney and Marietta Brooks both of Peabody; a brother, Michael Lalikos of FL; nine nieces & nephews, eight great-nieces & nephews, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 6 PM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday at 9 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM in St. Vasilios Church, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to ARC, 6 South Side Rd. Danvers, MA 01923 or to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
