Obituary of Robert G. Newton
Robert G. Newton, 66, of Peabody, died unexpectedly Sunday evening at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Newton.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Gordon and Dorothy (Lally) Newton. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1960.
Robert worked for over 25 years as a truck driver for the Bay State Express Company in Charlestown before retiring. He also was a member of the VFW post 1011 in Peabody, liked doing woodworking and enjoyed being on the computer.
He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert Newton of Lynn, Michael Newton of Peabody, and John and his wife Helen Newton of Lynn, two daughters and a son-in-law, Cheryl Newton of Woburn and Dawn and her husband Daniel McNulty of Beverly, and is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late James Newton and brother of the late Phillip and Richard Newton.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Washington St.,, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
