Obituary of Sr. Helen Donald Seager, SND
Sister Helen Donald Seager, SND, 72, died on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the Sisters of Notre Dame Residence in Ipswich.
Sr. Helen was born in Boston on December 11, 1936 the daughter of the late Donald Y. and Helen P. (Sweeney) Seager.
Sr. Helen entered the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur at Waltham on August 15, 1955. Sr. Helen received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Emmanuel College, a Master in Education from Boston State College and a Master in Theology from St. Michael College in VT. During her 54 years of religious life Sr. Helen served in many schools including Hudson, Salem, Brighton, Cambridge, Dorchester, Methuen, Roxbury, Waltham and So. Boston.
Sr. Helen is survived by her many Sisters of Notre Dame family; a sister, Helen Durham of Rye, NH; a brother, Donald Seager of Dedham and many nieces and nephews. Her siblings John J. Seager, Sr. and Gloria Breault predeceased her.
Sr. Helen's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. at Our Lady Queen Chapel, 30 Jeffreys Neck Rd., Ipswich. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may pay their respects on Friday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Sisters of Notre Dame Residence, 30 Jeffreys Neck Rd., Ipswich. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Ipswich. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Notre Dame retirement fund, 30 Jeffreys Neck Rd., Ipswich, MA 01938.
