I'm the lucky Godson who had Aunt Ronnie (Veronica Camillieri) as my Godmother. Below I would like to share a letter that I wrote to her on February 17, 2009.

Hi Aunt Ronnie, February 17, 2009

Just thought I would drop you a line and say hello. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about you. Every time I hear “Mack The Knife” I say to myself that’s one of Aunt Ronnie’s favorite songs.

I’m writing to you from the beach in Florida. Debbi and I have a small condo in Boca Raton. Now, I can see your eyebrows going up and thinking “well, isn’t that nice”! Yes, my mother would have thought the same thing.

But more importantly, I hope you are managing the best you can at your new location even though it’s not your preferred situation. I know you are making sure that the staff is providing you and your fellow residents with the best food and house keeping services.

Thank you for being an important part our family. As a young boy, I always enjoyed going over to your house in Lynnfield, with my mother. I remember that we would all sit at your kitchen table and I would just listen to your conversations, which were very entertaining at times. You would always offer me a drink and some delicious homemade pastry, that you just made. Thanksgiving at our home in Winchester was the best when you could join us. Along with your beautiful smile and warm hugs, you brought over your homemade potato salad (with bacon) and your freshly baked apple and mice pies. YUM.

Just wanted you to know that I love you.

ED
