Obituary of Gabrielle R. King

MIDDLETON - Gabrielle King, 19, of Middleton, a Sophomore at Emmanuel College in Boston, died Tuesday March 17, 2009 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton after sustaining injuries in a fall. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Renata Paratore of Middleton and James J. King of Quincy. She lived several years in the South Shore and Weymouth, then moved to Middleton just before starting as a Freshman at Masconomet Regional High School, and lived here the last six years. She graduated from Masconomet, Class of 2007. Gabrielle was very well liked and easily made new friends. She was a Cheerleader with the Masco Basketball Team, and also at Emmanuel College. She devoted her dynamic energy as a Pop Warner Cheerleading Coach at East Lynn, and led the team to a trip to Disney World. She also enjoyed music and dance, and competed in Dance Competitions with Helene Joy Studios of Middleton. During summers she was a Camp Counselor with the Town of Middleton. An accomplished student, Gabrielle maintained a 3.8 GPA studying Psychology and Spanish Studies. She was a Foreign Exchange Student and went to Madrid where she befriended another Exchange Student, Beatrice, who became a close family friend. She enjoyed Road Trips and traveling, visiting family in Florida and Ohio, and just recently returned from Spring Break in Cancun. She worked part-time at Market Basket in Middleton, and was a Waitress at Game On in Kenmore Square in Boston. She is survived by: her parents James J. King and Renata Paratore; a brother, James A. King of Middleton; her maternal grandmother, Kit Paratore of Lynn; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in Quincy, South Shore, Lynn, North Shore, Florida, and Ohio. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Agnes Church, Middleton. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton. Memorial donations may be sent to the Gabrielle King Scholarship Fund, c/o Emmanuel College, 400 The Fenway, Boston, MA 02115.
