Obituary of Lois A. (Lang) Arnold
Lois A. (Lang) Arnold, 80, of Peabody, died Thursday morning at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Richard Arnold.
Born in Roslindale, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Bertha (Ives) Lang. She was raised and educated in Roslindale and was a graduate of Roslindale High School. After high school, she attended Boston University and graduated with a BA degree in Home Economics.
She taught home economics for over 10 years at the former John F. Kennedy Junior High School in Peabody before retiring in 1978. She was a member of the smocking guild in Beverly and won numerous prizes at the Topsfield Fair. She also was a member of the Riverside Squares. For the past four years while living at Brooksby Village, she was a member of the "Heart Ladies" Group.
Lois is survived by two sons, David Arnold of Seattle, WA and Steven and his wife Andrea Arnold of Lynn, a daughter, Shirley and her husband Daniel Richard of Peabody, a brother, Walter Lang of Alfred, NY, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Brooksby Village Chapel, 100 Brooksby Village Dr., in Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or the Greater Boston Celiac Support Group, 225 School Master Lane, Dedham, MA 02026.
