Obituary of Gordon G. Crosby
Gordon G. Crosby 75 years, husband of Eileen M. (Grady) Crosby of Peabody, died Sunday afternoon at the Beverly Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Crosby was born on July 29, 1929 in Beverly son of the late Guy A. and Harriett (Snell) Crosby. He was raised in Hamilton and graduated from Hamilton High School class of 1947. He served 12 years in National Guard. He resided in Beverly for many years before making his home in Peabody in 2000. He also resided in Ormond Beach Florida for 5 years.
Mr. Crosby was employed for 35 years as a painter with the Sullivan & Sons Painting Contractors of Beverly until his retirement in 2000. He enjoyed sharing his time with his loving grandchildren and also enjoyed his two cats.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Bryan G. Crosby and Randy A. Crosby both of Beverly and Peter H. O’ Shea of Newburyport; a daughter and her husband, Debra A. and John Karamas of Peabody; a brother and his wife, Carroll and Margaret Peg Crosby of NH; a sister-in-law, Jane E. Russo of ME; 9 grandchildren, Melissa, Michael and Jeremy Croteau of Peabody, William and Raymond Crosby of Beverly, Ryan, Amanda, Tatum and Dillon O’ Shea of NH; several nieces and nephews. A son Dana P. O’ Shea and his siblings Elizabeth Betty Cummings, Wendall, Elmer and Arthur Crosby pre deceased him.
At his request a private family service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the MSPCA, C/O Angell Animal Hospital, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston MA 02130.
