Obituary of Tao-Ching (Hsia) Shaw

Tao-Ching Hsia (Shaw), husband of the late Shu Hsia, beloved father of Julia and James Hsia, was born in 1917, in Jiansu Province, China. He graduated from Nanjin University with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. He came to the U.S. in 1946 to study at Harvard University. He subsequently transferred to NYU, where he earned a M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for many years for Consolidated Edison Company in New York City as an Electrical Engineer and resided in Astoria and then Bayside, New York. After retiring in 1983, he moved to Danvers, MA with his wife, Shu Hsia. Tao-Ching is survived by his daughter Julia and son in-law Gary Vining of Andover, MA, his son James and daughter in-law Mitzi of Weston, MA, four grand children, Diana Vining, Max Hsia, Vanessa Hsia and Katie Hsia, three brothers and three sisters. His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Brooksby Village Chapel, 101 Brooksby Village Drive in Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
