Obituary of Janice A. "Jan" (Clay) Dugar

Janice A. “Jan” (Clay) Dugar, 74, of Peabody, died on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House Danvers with her family at her side. Mrs. Dugar was born in Lynn on October 30, 1934 the daughter of the late Frederick and Adella (Graham) Clay. She was raised in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School Class of 1952. In 1969 she moved from Lynn to Peabody where she has since resided. Jan was employed for 28 years as a technician at Salem–Peabody Oral Surgery and semi retired in September 2008. Jan devoted her entire life to her family and later was so proud of her 7 grandchildren whom she cherished. Jan was dedicated to her work, patients, many friends and co-workers and also loved country music, line dancing, bowling as hobbies and playing the lottery. “The Massachusetts State Lottery will sincerely miss Jan.” Jan is survived by her children, Robert N. Dugar, Cynthia M. Mavroules, Pamela J. Dugar all of Peabody, and Thomas W. and his wife Erica Dugar of NC; 7 grandchildren, Robert Dugar of OH, Krista Dugar and Stephen Mavroules both of Peabody, Nicole Mavroules of Beverly and Timothy Mavroules of NY, Kaylee Sims and Brandon Dugar both of NC; a brother and sister-in-law, Frederick and Judith Clay of Lynn, several aunts and many nieces and nephews. She was the former wife of the late Thomas W. Dugar. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. (facility) Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday, April 8, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the services. A family burial of ashes will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers MA 01923.
