Obituary of Riza Shurdha

Peabody - Riza Shurdha, 83, beloved husband of Shahe Shurdha of Peabody, died Friday April 10, 2009 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Kavaj, Albania, he was the son of the late Tofik and Hajrije Shurdha. He lived there for most of his life, and operated a local cafe in his town. After businesses were privatized from the government, he owned his own Bar & Cafe for several years before coming to the United States. He will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, and friend who valued doing whatever it would take to support his family and lead them to a better life. Besides his wife, Shahe of Peabody, he is survived by: four sons, Muhamet Shurdha of Middleton, Ismail Shurdha of Peabody, Tofik Shurdha of Danvers, and Edison Shurdha of Peabody; two daughters, Pranvera Shurdha of Peabody and Myzejen Stern of Haverhill; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a sister in Albania, also a larger, extended family in Albania. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday from 12 Noon to 2 P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location Peabody, followed by a Graveside Committal Ceremony at 2:30 P.M. in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem.
