Obituary of David E. Wilson

. David E Wilson, 85, of Peabody, died peacefully Sunday afternoon at the Lahey Clinic in Peabody. He was the devoted husband of Dolores (Girouard) Wilson with whom he shared over 58 years of marriage. Born in Malden, he was the son of the late Albert and Mildred Wilson. He was raised and educated in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during World War II. After the war, he went to work for the United States Post Office and for over 35 years worked in South Boston at the general mail facility until his retirement. He was a loving and devoted husband and father who was involved with many activities with his wife, especially the Massachusetts Special Olympics. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter, Dawn Garrity of West Simsbury, CT, and by four grandchildren, Steven and Douglas Garrity, Lauren Bagley, and Heather Russo. His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
