Obituary of J. Michael Mannix
Michael Mannix, 57, of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, died Friday afternoon at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, following a brief illness. He was the devoted and loving husband of Helen (Lynch) Mannix with whom he shared over 32 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Kelley) Mannix. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Trade School. Upon marrying his wife, Helen, he moved to Peabody and has been living in Peabody for the past 32 years.
He worked as a shipper/receiver for Harvard Folding Box for over 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Moose Lodge in Salem for over 25 years. He also loved playing and watching golf, bowling and had a strong passion for softball. He also enjoyed watching his daughter’ s softball games during their championship years at Bishop Fenwick High school during the early 1990’ s.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his two daughters and a son-in-law, Laura and Chris Pitman of Beverly and Lisa Mannix of Malden and is also survived by two nieces.
His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Tuesday from 4 until 8 PM. Cremations will take place following the services with burial at a later date.
