Obituary of Sylvia (Perakis) Eon

Peabody - Sylvia (Perakis) Eon, 88, of Peabody, beloved wife of the late Rudolph Eon, died unexpectedly Tuesday at the North Shore Medical Center - Salem Hospital in Salem following a brief illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Agerios and Vasiliki (Christopoulos) Perakis and was a lifelong resident of the city. Mrs. Eon worked at Modern Leather for many years and retired 23 years ago. Sylvia enjoyed playing cards and going to see the Dogs at Wonderland. She lived life simply, cooking and hosting and entertaining family and friends. She is survived by: a daughter Joyce Costanzo of Natick; a son and daughter-in-law, Francis & Alexis Eon of Peabody, and two granddaughters, Linda Costanzo and Danielle Eon; two great-grandchildren, James & John Warren; two sisters-in-law, Joan Perakis and Bea Eon, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a granddaughter Marianna Warren, and was the last living of her siblings from a large Perakis family. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM in St. Vasilios Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held today from 5 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
