Obituary of Joseph M. Russo

North Conway, NH, Russo, October 30, 2002. Joseph M. Russo, 79, of North Conway, NH and formally of Revere and Beverly, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at Memorial Hospital in North Conway, NH; He was the loving husband of Lillian (Nauss) Russo. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late I. James and Anna (Prestia) Russo. He was raised in Revere and attended Revere Public Schools and graduated from Revere High School, class of 1942. After High School, he entered the United States Navy and served three years during WWII. He had lived in Beverly for over 42 years and has lived in North Conway, NH for the past 15 years. After the war he attended Northeastern University in Boston and later had worked for over 42 years at the Charlestown Navy Shipyard as a design engineer before retiring 15 years ago. He was a Disabled American Veteran, a member of the White Mountains Milers club in North Conway, NH and was a member of the Holy Name Society in Beverly. Besides his loving wife he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Lucille Russo of Intevale, NH; three daughters and 2 sons-in-laws, Carol McMullen of Pompano Beach Fla., Rosemary and Andrew Graham of Middleton, and Nancy and Glenn Davis of Peabody; 5 brothers, Alphonse and Vitol Russo, both of Revere, Salvatore Russo of Beverly, James Russo of Everett, and Charles Russo of Glen, NH; 3 sisters, Mary Longo, Lydia DiSisto, and Anna DeMouro, all of Revere; 9 grandchildren, Cheryl & Sean Pyburn, Julie and John Borgesi, Wayne McMullen, Matthew and Mark Russo and Steven and Ellie Davis; 1 great grandchild, Julie Russo, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late Michael Russo. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Burial in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton.
