Obituary of Marcia C. (Kaplan) Roomey

Marcia C. (Kaplan) Roomey, 70, of Lynn and formerly of Peabody, died Saturday morning at her home following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Bobbie Luise with whom she shared the last 20 year of her life. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Josephine (Letorney) Kaplan. She was raised and educated in Boston and was a graduate of Boston Girls High School, class of 1956. For the past 18 years, Marcia worked for the city of Peabody with the Meals on Wheels program. Marcia enjoyed playing cards and loved to cook, and was a member of AA for the past 35 years. Besides her loving wife Bobbie, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Jolan Roomey of Sandwich, two daughters, Joanne Marcia Roomey and her fiancé Rich Bordonaro of Peabody, and Cheryle and Marc Seidman of Peabody, a sister, Sonia Petrillo of Swampscott, six grandchildren, Richard, Jenna, and Mike Roomey, and Joseph, Jeffrey, and Jeremy Freitas, a great granddaughter, Ava Joy Roomey, her best friend Mike Roomey of Wareham, and is also survived by several nieces, nephews and her dog Mr. Buddy. She was predeceased by her four brothers Fred Abraham, Alvin, Richard, and Ronald Kaplan. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
