Obituary of Marie E. (Parlee) Brintnall
Marie E. (Parlee) Brintnall, 89, of Peabody, died early Monday morning at the Kindred Hospital in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Carl E. Brintnall with whom she shared over 39 years of marriage.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Nora (Lawless) Parlee. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of St. James High School, class of 1937. She has been a resident of Peabody for the past 41 years.
Marie was a veteran of World War II and served her country stateside with the United States Coast Guard and was honorable discharged on February 7, 1946. After the war, Marie focused her energy into volunteer work and her family.
She was a long time volunteer at Salem Hospital and was very active with St. Ann’s Church in Peabody and sang in the choir. She also was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Yankee Division in Peabody and the AOH, division 18 in Salem. When she and her husband retired, they wintered in Port Orange, Florida.
Besides her loving husband, she is survived by a son, John Davis of Gloucester, a sister, Frances Parlee of Peabody and is also survived by two grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
