Obituary of Sabina J. "Sibbie" (Marchewka) Bridge

Sabina J. “Sibbie” (Marchewka) Bridge, 82, of Nashua NH, beloved wife of the late Merritt “Ray” Bridge, died on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Beverly Hospital, Beverly MA after a brief illness. Sabina was born on September 1, 1926, in Peabody, daughter of the late Martin and Serafina (Brolewicz) Marchewka. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School Class of 1943. She resided in Peabody and following her marriage to Ray in 1968 she moved to Nashua, NH. While residing in Peabody, she was the organist and choir director at St. Joseph’s Church for 18 years. Sabina was employed at Erie Technological Products, later becoming Murata Erie Electronics Corp. of Wakefield, MA for 30 years as administrative assistant and office manager until her retirement in 1991. Her hobbies included reading, doing needlepoint, tending to her plants and cooking. Sabina was very involved with family and always remained in touch with her many friends from Peabody. Sabina is survived by her nephew Charles Marchewka and his wife Dolores of Duxbury MA; was the godmother and mentor of her niece, Karen Cahill and her husband Edward of Peabody; great aunt of Patricia O’Keefe of Exeter, NH, Martin Marchewka of San Diego, CA, Nicholas Marchewka of Boston, Jonathan Cahill of Washington, PA, Matthew Cahill and his wife Michelle of Vernon, CT, and Sarah Cahill of Peabody; her great great nieces, Kathryn, Christina and Samantha of Exeter, NH; her great great nephews, Cole of Peabody and Mason of Vernon, CT. She will be dearly missed by her many friends of both Nashua and Peabody. Her siblings, Walter, Henry, Chet and Jenny Marchewka, and Stacia Murawski predeceased her. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody, MA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 29 Crafts St., Suite 450, Newton MA 02158. Arrangements are by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody.
